Lincoln Castle

The children in Years 1 & 2 had a fantastic time at Lincoln Castle today. They walked around the castle wall, handled real armour, attended knight school where they were taught how to dress like a knight and joust like a knight. They made their very own shields and took part in a banquet. As always their behaviour was excellent. They listened carefully, asked lots of sensible questions and had lots of fun. We are so proud of them. Here are some photos from the day.

Which shape is the strongest?

Today in Year 2 the children listened to the story ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff.’ They were given two pieces of newspaper and asked to make a bridge for them by folding, twisting or scrunching the paper. They presented their finished bridges to the class, tested each one, gave each bridge a mark out of ten and presented their findings in a block graph.

Children in Year 2 have been finding out all about money over the last two weeks. They have made different combinations of coins that total £1 and have added money to make different totals. Some children have even started to calculate how much change they would receive from a given amount. We are all so impressed!
