Charlie and Eddie had a tricky problem to solve in maths today. If a spider climbs up a 30 metre building and each day he climbs 5 metres but slides back down 1 metre, how long will it take the spider to reach the top?
They worked brilliantly together and solved the problem.
Today with Mrs Hardy the children used charcoal to draw their picture of a boat. They are so fantastic we are struggling to decide which is the photograph and which is the drawing.
This morning in Year 2 the children started to write the opening of their story based on our class clip. They are all fantastic but we were especially impressed with Daisy and Ray who used fantastic vocabulary choices to really set the scene. Here they are looking very pleased with themselves.
What amazing work from the children in Year 2! They have applied the techniques that Mrs Hardy has been teaching them in Art to sketch a section of a boat.
This afternoon the children in Year 2 have been creating treasure maps. They included lots of scary features such as a crocodile infested swamp! They are now beginning to create a set of instructions to go with their maps. Keep checking our blog for updates.
The children across the school were asked to vote for the children in their class that would make the best school councillors. Mr Clark announced the names of the children with the most votes in assembly this morning, which was very exciting! We are pleased to announce the two children that will represent our class this year are Freddie and Ethan. I am sure that they will make fantastic school councillors.
This afternoon, children in Year 2 spent some of the afternoon exploring pencil tone. They looked at which pencils create a darker tone and which pencils create a lighter tone.
